Does anyone else like to hold their speakers and literally feel music coming out of them? Or is that just a me thing?

After learning to use iterators with Rust... I cringe a little looking at for loops with numeric indexes that don't really need them.

Free software dev thoughts

I wonder why some folks have an issue hearing "patches welcome". In my experience when something like that is said, it's a maintainer signaling that they want the feature, but don't have the time or energy to implement it themselves.

To me, that's just something that's a part of free software development. The person trying to work on something in their spare time isn't going to be able to write every feature on their own. So, why do people think it's some sort of hostile statement?

Fucking hell, I just learned Overly Attached Girlfriend sold her meme as an NFT.

When I was younger I used to look up at her as a cool person, and I looked up to her more after watching her retirement video a while back. This? This is painful. Especially since I thought she was someone who cared about the environment.

A constant annoyance with C: forgetting to handle NULL. Or working with code that has forgotten to handle NULL. Have a function that takes a string? Woops, someone passed in NULL and everything explodes when you try to use the string.

Using some library and forgot that a function is nullable? Woops, everything has exploded.

In Rust you have to properly handle cases like this with Option/Result at compile time. Users can't pass invalid inputs, and they're prevented from incorrectly using bad outputs.

This sort of thing is super typical with the crypt0 cult. If you're against their fad, you're responsible for every bad thing they think crypto is supposed to replace. They cannot fathom nuanced reasons for being against cryptocurrency. They cannot fathom that people see the real deal and hate it. So they simply think everyone against fiat is "pro legacy finance" or some bs

It seems like the Pleroma community is imploding, and I'm somewhat glad that I decided to stop running an instance.

I feel like Undertale's soundtrack really makes the game. Like yeah, the content is great, but the music really makes it all shine

go build being silent is annoying. I can't tell if it's actually working.

I uh, really don't like the look of caricature art. I don't think I've seen a single piece of it that was appealing to me in any way.

There's but apparently Twitter doesn't have limited scopes, and I'm not entirely comfortable giving that webapp access to my account. Even if it's open source.
